“On Thursday September 10th, Michael Lyle was at the Amador County Superior Court for a violation of felony probation. When Lyle found out he was going to be remanded into custody to serve time in prison, he fled the courtroom and out an emergency exit door. Lyle ran into a nearby field, where he was pursued by the bailiffs who eventually lost sight of him.

Units from the Amador County Sheriff’s Office, the Jackson Police Department, Amador County Probation, and CHP responded and checked the area, but Lyle was able to evade capture.

A few hours later, multiple citizens contacted dispatch and advised they saw Lyle near French Bar Road, then near Clinton Road and Broadway. Law enforcement units quickly saturated the area and Lyle was located and taken into custody after another foot pursuit.

The Amador County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank our law enforcement partners and our citizens for their assistance and vigilance in the efforts to capture Lyle.”
