“On September 10th, 2020, around 8:40pm, Napa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call for possible shots fired from a moving vehicle. The reporting party said he saw a vehicle traveling southbound, near the 3400 Block of Atlas Peak Road, and could hear gunshots coming from the car.
Moments later, a Napa County Sheriff’s Deputy made an investigative stop on a vehicle with three men inside, near the 2100 Block of Atlas Peak Road. The deputy saw an AR-15 style rifle between the legs of the passenger in the front seat.
After a second Deputy arrived at the scene, the driver of the car, Shawn Stephen Brumley (Vacaville), was commanded to exit the vehicle. Brumley was searched for weapons and placed in a patrol car. After more deputies arrived, the front seat passenger, Ernest Clark Davis II (Napa), and rear seat passenger, Joseph Pete Perez (Napa), were detained.
Deputies searched the vehicle and located an AR-15 style assault rifle on the front passenger side floor board. A second AR-15 style assault rifle, three high capacity magazines, and ammunition were located in the rear hatchback within reach of where Perez was sitting. Both rifles were modified to be fully automatic firearms. Shell casings were also found inside the car.
The Napa County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant and located 6 more guns inside a Napa residence. Four of the six firearms located in the residence were modified to be fully automatic weapons.
Brumley, Davis, and Perez were arrested and booked on multiple felony charges including possession of assault weapon(s), possession of machine gun(s), possession of silencer(s), and discharging firearm(s) in a negligent manner.”
