The night of August 30, 2020 a Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy patrolling the area of Old Fig Garden initiated a traffic stop near Ashlan and Maroa on a BMW for expired tags. Upon contacting the occupants of the vehicle, the deputy identified 37-year old Francisco Barajas and 27-year old Moises Beltran. Both men are from Fresno, gang members, and both have a history of felony convictions and an extensive criminal record.

Barajas was found in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana for sale, and possession of a meth pipe and syringe. He was cited and released. Beltran was found with a pistol next to him and a syringe in his pocket. He was arrested and booked at the Fresno County Jail for being a felon and gang member in possession of a gun and committing a felony while out on bail.
