Sacramento man arrested on suspicion of murder with knife

“At approximately 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday September 9, 2020, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from the 2300 block of Villanova Circle regarding a male who had been stabbed.

Deputies responded and located a 37-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen. Deputies immediately began life saving measures as fire personnel responded. The suspect, 31-year-old Jordan Rene Perez of Sacramento (see attached photo), remained on scene and was detained by deputies. Fire personnel arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and established the victim and suspect are known to each other, although a motive for the stabbing is not known at this time. Perez was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for murder.

The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin.
