An officer with the Santa Rosa Police Department experienced minor injuries from a DUI driver –
“Last night, a suspected DUI driver struck an officer’s patrol vehicle, in the area of Cleveland Av and Ridgeway Av. The officer had just arrived on scene to provide security for the Santa Rosa Fire Department.
The driver of the vehicle was later arrested for felony DUI & causing injury and booked into the Sonoma County Jail. The officer sustained minor injuries. He was treated and released at a local hospital.
This was just a mutual aid call for assistance, but the officer faced an unknown danger that he couldn’t see coming. This incident could have been prevented by having a designated driver or using a taxi/ride share service. Please #DontDrinkAndDrive
