The City of Madera Police Department arrested a man on probation for auto theft as he carried shaved keys –

“In the last week we have seen a spike in auto thefts.

Officer Vasquez specializes in auto theft related crimes and was on patrol today looking to prevent them.

He may have done just that; Officer Vasquez conducted a traffic stop and contacted Michael McClellan.

Michael is on probation for auto theft and was found to be in possession of five shaved vehicle keys and methamphetamine.

Shaved keys are commonly used by suspects to steal cars. Michael was booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections.”
