Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

The Redwood City Police Department announces the arrest of two people possessing meth –

“On 7/24/20, at approximately 10:00 PM, while assigned to the regional San Mateo County Gang Task Force, Redwood City Street Crime Suppression Team Detectives conducted a traffic enforcement stop of a vehicle for a vehicle code violation in the area of Edison Street and Hillsdale Boulevard in San Mateo.

Detectives contacted the occupants of the vehicle who were identified as Suspect Anthony Valdovinos (driver) and Suspect Mark Ogo (passenger). During the traffic stop a narcotic certified K-9 indicated there were narcotics inside of the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 30 pounds of suspected methamphetamine with an estimated street value of over $120,000. Valdovinos and Ogo were both placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance for sale, transported and booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
