A Solano County man has been arrested after allegedly brandishing a gun during a road rage incident and fleeing from the police who responded.

Fairfield Police dispatch received a call just before 1 PM on Saturday, July 25, about a road rage incident on I-80, in which the suspect had reportedly been driving erratically and also brandished a gun (pictured above). The victim provided a description of the vehicle as well as the plate number.

Officers quickly caught up to the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Mackenzie Clifton, who led them on a short pursuit and discarded his gun in the process.

Police say that, at some point, Clifton ditched the car and tried to flee on foot, but alert citizens pointed them right to him.

He was then arrested and booked without further incident.
