Christian Hamaguchi Arrested for Murdering His Father in Their Home

VICTORVILLE – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBSD) Victorville Deputies were dispatched to conduct a welfare check request on 07/21/2020 at 9:19 AM for a residence on the 14200 block of La Paz Drive. A family member who had regularly spoken with one of the residents, Ted Hamaguchi (69), was unable to reach him.

Information provided to Deputies included another resident, the son, Christian Hamaguchi (26). “Deputies went to the home and contacted Christian,” said SBSD, “and after entering the home they found Ted deceased in a bedroom.”

This spurred an immediate response by Detectives with the Homicide Detail to investigate. As a result of conducting the investigation, interviewing Christian, and after processing the scene, “Detectives arrested Christian for murder,” said SBSD.

“He was booked at West Valley Detention Center and is being held without bail.”

The investigation in Case No. DR#172006448 H#2020-068 is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Bruce Southworth, Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail at (909)387-3589.
