On Monday, July 20th , a woman went to meet her 25-year old son who is homeless and suffers with his mental health. She intended to feed him and get him cleaned up. They drove from Fresno to Winton Park near North Piedra and Elwood Roads in Sanger.

When they arrived at the park, her son, Francisco Gil, punched her in the head several times. He took her car keys and exited the vehicle. Unable to get a cell signal to call 911, the frightened woman stayed inside the car.

Gil eventually returned. He continued the abuse verbally, making disrespectful comments to his mom then drove her home. He left in her car after dropping her off. His mother called the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office to report the crimes.

The next day, detectives located Gil at Victoria Park on West Clinton and North Brawley Avenue, a park Gil frequents. He was inside the stolen 2014 Chevy Malibu. The car was returned to his mom and he was arrested.

He was booked at the Fresno County Jail for Carjacking; bail set at $90,000. As of the time of this writing, Gil remains in custody.
