Arrest made in deadly Sacramento stabbing

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in the July 13th fatal stabbing of a man on Stockton Boulevard –

“Shortly before 11 p.m. on Monday July 13, 2020, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from a convenience store in the 7700 block of Stockton Boulevard regarding reports of a stabbing.

Deputies responded and located an adult male suffering from apparent trauma to his body. Deputies immediately began life-saving measures. Fire personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and began their investigation. Detectives discovered the suspect and victim were involved in a physical altercation inside the convenience store prior to the assault. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Anthony Coleman was detained by deputies a short distance from the scene. He was arrested and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail on related charges.

The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin.
