A Plumas County man has been jailed on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon following a reported shooting in Chester.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 100 block of Brentwood Drive around 11:50 PM on Thursday, June 25, where residents had reported hearing gunshots.

The woman who’d called the Sheriff’s Department said there were five people sitting in a vehicle outside her home, and that they’d threatened to kill her. At some point, the Sheriff’s Office was also advised that a male victim had been admitted to nearby Seneca Hospital with a gunshot wound.

After arriving and securing the scene, deputies were able to identify 31-year-old Donald Curtis Cox as the primary shooting suspect. He was arrested and booked at the Plumas County Jail.
