One way to keep a marriage from going stale may well be to spice things up by engaging in a life of crime together. If that’s true, the relationship enjoyed by husband-and-wife San Diego
residents 39-yhear-old Edward Cruz and 35-year-old Sarah Cruz must be a match made in
heaven.

According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Senior Deputy Greg Webb, Mr. & Mrs. Cruz are suspected “for three commercial burglaries” that have taken place in Thousand
Oaks since the beginning of 2020.

It all began in January when deputies attached to the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded to a pair of retail burglaries that “occurred in the early morning hours within a short distance of each other.”

Then, on April 2, 2020, a burglary of a “medical spa” in the same community was reported.
Investigation of that crime indicated that it was “related to the two burglaries in January.”

Among the items stolen at that time was a computer that was ultimately traced to a San Diego
residence where Ed and Sarah Cruz were first contacted by law enforcement. The ensuing
investigation into the Cruzes “ultimately identified the couple as suspects.”

Further research into their activities via a search warrant of their residence lead to the
discovery of “numerous stolen items” from the earlier burglaries in Thousand Oaks. Both
Edward and Sarah were contacted on June 25 th while they were enjoying the spoils of their
crimes at the Sycuan Casino Resort in San Diego County.

They were taken into custody at that time and transported to Ventura County Jail, where they were booked on multiple counts of commercial burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Sarah Cruz posted bail and was released from custody, while leaving her husband Edward Cruz locked up with his bail set at $200,000.
