FCSO Arrests Kerman Man for Robbery

As reported, a man came into Bee’s Market in Raisin City on Monday, June 15, 2020. With a
gun pointed at the clerk, he demanded money.

The clerk complied, and as he placed money into a bag, the suspect threatened to hurt the clerk then fired a round into the floor, near where the clerk stood. When the suspect left, the clerk called the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office to report the crime.

When the deputy arrived, he reviewed the store’s surveillance video. He communicated with his
colleagues the suspect left the scene in a white SUV. Not long after, another deputy saw a
vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s near Jensen and Goldenrod in Kerman; a traffic
stop was made.

The driver was identified as the robbery suspect, 37-year old David Ybarra of Kerman. The
deputy found in Ybarra’s possession a bag full of cash and a loaded handgun. The handgun was
confirmed stolen during a burglary the week prior. Ybarra was arrested for robbery. The stolen
cash was returned to the store and the gun owner was contacted.

As of the time of this writing, Ybarra remains in custody at the Fresno County Jail where he was
booked.
