Pair riding around Tahoe with drugs, paraphernalia, bat

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested two men as they rode aeround with drugs in their car –

“One of our Tahoe deputies conducted a traffic stop last week in Tahoe City, after observing the vehicle had no front license plate, and a large crack across the front windshield.

The deputy recognized the driver and his two passengers; the passengers were known to have history of resisting and obstructing law enforcement — one of the passengers also had a felony warrant.

That passenger, 35-year old Miguel Angel Lopez-Cabrera of Kings Beach, is on felony searchable probation. Upon searching the vehicle Lopez-Cabrera was riding in, the deputy found a weaponized bat, suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin, used methamphetamine pipes and used/loaded hypodermic needles.

The bat, which had an expletive written across it, was found near the center console of the vehicle, and within reach of the three subjects who were in the vehicle. The deputy believed the bat was potentially being used as a weapon. Additionally, the driver, 35-year old Antonio Cruz Munoz-Duran of Kings Beach was driving without a license.

Munoz-Duran was arrested for possession of a deadly weapon other than a firearm (bat) and driving with no license. Lopez-Cabrera was arrested for his felony warrant, being in possession of a controlled substance, being in possession of drug paraphernalia and violating his felony probation.”
