The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office caught a man driving a stolen Uhaul truck in their county –

“One of our deputies was patrolling the area of Reservation Road this morning and saw a suspicious person leaving the area of a nearby parked vehicle with a broken window.

The deputy attempted to stop the suspect, Casey Ream, driving away in a Uhaul rental truck.

Ream refused to stop and the deputy pursued him down River Road.

Ream eventually crashed the Uhaul into a gate in the Las Palmas Ranch area.

Ream ran into the community and entered a residences backyard and garage. A few minutes later Ream ran up a hillside.

We setup a perimeter of deputies and a K-9 located Ream buried under leaves below a tree.

Ream decided he wasn’t escaping and decided to surrender to K-9 Bond. We later determined the Uhaul truck was stolen.

Ream was booked in our county jail for burglary, evading law enforcement, hit and run and vehicle theft.”
