Juvenile arrested in alleged double-shooting in Sacramento

“At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday May 29, 2020, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from in the 9000 block of Tuolumne Drive in Sacramento County. The caller stated a male at that location had been shot during a physical altercation.

Deputies responded and located an 18-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Deputies immediately began life saving measures while fire personnel responded. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Shortly thereafter, deputies learned of a separate gunshot victim at a local hospital. The 31-year-old male had been shot in the upper body during the same altercation. He is expected to survive his injuries.

Homicide detectives arrested a 16-year-old male on charges related to this incident. He was booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall.

The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin.
