A commercial burglary occurred on May 20 at 10:00 a.m. and the Riverside Police Department was called in.

The owner of a shop in the 4300 block of Market Street had several hundred dollars’ worth of camera equipment stolen.

As the owner of the store walked at 14th and Market Streets, someone approached him, offering to sell him some camera equipment. It was his own equipment! And at the time he did not know what had happened at his store.

The owner went to his store, saw the damage, and then tried to detain the suspect after calling police.

Officers arrived, approached the suspect, and then chased after him as he ran. Soon 25-year-old Johnny Angel Robles was taken into custody.

The store owner had his property returned to him.

Robles is “currently on probation for violence against the police, along with various other violations related to theft, drugs, and resisting arrest.”

The suspect had just recently been released from jail on a “fed kick.” He was booked anew for commercial burglary and probation violation, with a $10,000 bail.
