A Crescent City man has been arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and other offenses after a series of contentious encounters with the same victim earlier this month.

Police say 39-year-old Ian Walker had gotten into an argument over money with another person at the Shell gas station on Northcrest Drive on Friday, May 15, and ultimately rammed his own vehicle into theirs.

Video surveillance footage obtained from the scene corroborated these events, and revealed that a small child had been inside the victim’s vehicle.

Minutes later, Walker allegedly spotted and confronted the victim again during a child custody exchange at a nearby McDonald’s, forcing the victim’s window down by hitting it and stealing his phone off the seat and keys out of the ignition.

Then he went to Taco Bell, where police say another argument took place.

Officers eventually caught up with Walker at his home on the 1100 block of Highway 101 and took him into custody.
