STRATFORD – Someone was making threats on the night of May 16 and Deputies from the Kings County Sheriff’s Office went to investigate.

The female vicitm said that Sergio Medina, her husband, used a machete to “cut her property” and then threatened her with it.

Medina was not on site, but “in an alley way, near Second and Railroad Streets.

The suspect dropped his machete when deputies arrived, but commenced to fighting whent he cuffs came out.

Medina grabbed at various items on the deputy, including his hand held radio.

The arrival of other deputies quickly ended the suspect’s efforts, and a glass meth pipe he had on him might explain some of his actions.

The Deputy “received minor injuries to his hand but is expected to make a full recovery.”

It was an argument earlier between sergio an dhis wife that gave rise to the assault, involving in her being pushed and struck on her thigh with the machete.

the wife took her kids away to a friends house and, when she later returned, noticed things in the house that he been “cut up.”

Medina was booked for assault with a deadly weapon, spousal battery, resisting with force, and possession of paraphernalia. His bail is set at $50,000.
