Two men have been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from a Vacaville Walmart last week.

According to a department press release, on the afternoon of Monday, April 27, an officer on patrol spotted two men running from the lawn and garden section of Walmart.

An employee reported shortly afterward that the two had allegedly loaded a cart full of store merch and tried to push it outside through a closed glass exit door, damaging the door.

Their descriptions were broadcast to surrounding officers and they were quickly spotted driving on eastbound I-80. The officer who spotted them conducted an enforcement stop with the assistance of an officer from Dixon PD.

The suspects — identified as Jeffrey Cox (41, of Yuba City) and Richard Albert (37, of Marysville) were arrested and booked on suspicion of shoplifting, conspiracy, and possession of stolen property.
