BRENTWOOD — Two men were arrested on the morning of April 22 on suspicion of committing a burglary at a closed fitness club. Police were tipped off by a resident who spotted the burglary in progress at approximately 6 :15 a.m.

The witness reported seeing burglars prying open a back door at 24 Hour Fitness located at 5961 Lone Tree Way. The suspects quickly loaded up a car with stolen tools and they drove away.

Fortunately, the caller was able to provide a Brentwood dispatcher with a detailed description of the vehicle. The suspects were apprehended shortly after they fled from the scene of the burglary.

An Antioch officer heard Brentwood officers being dispatched come across his radio. Not long afterward, the Antioch officer spotted the suspect’s getaway car.

The car was located exiting from the Highway 4 bypass, driving towards downtown Antioch. This vehicle was flashed to pull over and the suspects were detained by Antioch officers.

Antioch PD notified Brentwood PD that two men in handcuffs were ready to be handed over to Brentwood officers. Stolen tools and illicit drugs were located and recovered from inside the car. The vehicle was subsequently towed away and impounded.

The suspects are Antioch residents, 29-year-old Jimario Fuller and 38-year-old Michael Kyle. Both men were booked at county jail on suspicion of burglary. In addition, they face charges for illegal possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
