Bakersfield Police have identified and arrested the primary suspect in three recent stabbings.

Around 9:20 PM on Tuesday, April 14th, officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of 19th Street where they found an adult woman critically injured from multiple stab wounds.

As the investigation unfolded, officers realized the nature of the attack was similar to two other recent stabbings — one on March 14, on the 500 block of 21st Street, and another on April 2, on the 100 block of Kentucky Street.

All three victims reportedly described the same suspect.

Then, just after 9 PM on Thursday, April 16th, surveillance units arrested 23-year-old Anthony Lee Lewis Jr. in the area of 19th and R Streets. Police say he was wearing clothing described in the April 14th assault and appeared to be stalking yet another woman as she walked alone in the area.

He has since been booked on three counts of suspected attempted murder and three counts of inflicting great bodily injury in the commission of a felony.
