“This past Thursday, the Milpitas Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from an alert employee at a local gas station on 1750 Block of South Main Street who saw several subjects arguing in the parking lot and mentioning something about a “gun.”

Officers responded within minutes and found one of the involved vehicles nearby in a residential neighborhood. During the investigation, Officers found a loaded, unregistered 9mm handgun inside the vehicle belonging to Mario Franco-Alvarado, a 19 year old Milpitas resident. Franco-Alvarado was issued a citation for misdemeanor possession of a loaded firearm and the dangerous weapon was confiscated as evidence.

By swiftly contacting Police, it gave our Officers a chance to respond, investigate, and remove a dangerous weapon off of your streets. We are #MilpitasStrong when we work together.

As a reminder, please report any crimes, suspicious activities, and/or vehicles to us by immediately calling 9-1-1.”
