“On 4/16/2020, suspect Jonathan Tran (20) used a homemade magnet key and stole several video games from a locked cabinet at Target in Cupertino. After reviewing surveillance video, deputies were able to obtain a license plate of Tran’s vehicle.

Using the “Offer Up App,” deputies saw video games posted for sale and were able to link the seller’s username to Tran.

On 4/17/2020, deputies contacted the seller, who agreed to meet up in San Jose. Upon contact, deputies recovered over 100 stolen video games, cocaine, prescription pills, plastic baggies, a scale, cash, pellet gun and the homemade magnet key. Tran was arrested and booked into the Main Jail. Outstanding work deputies!”
