Deputies arrest man after finding meth and paraphernalia during traffic stop

“On March 9, 2020, at about 12:46 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol on State Highway 169 in the Weitchpec area conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation.

Deputies contacted two males inside the vehicle and learned that both men were on probation with a search clause.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies located approximately 5 ounces of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and items consistent with the sale of controlled substances.

The driver of the vehicle, 54-year-old Jeffrey Allan Harper, was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales (HS 11378), driving with a suspended license (VC 14601(a)) and violation of probation (PC 1203.2(a)(2)). 

The passenger was cited for an out of county warrant and released.
