A burglar was caught at the scene of the crime, according to the Santa Cruz Police Department, on March 29 –
“Around 5:00 this morning, Officer Kroes was doing extra patrol downtown, when a report came in regarding subjects fighting. Within seconds, Officer Kroes contacted the subjects on the 800 block of Front Street.

A resident of the St. George heard glass breaking of a storefront window below. He got dressed and confronted suspect burglar Nathan Favors.
Nathan Favors is 21 years old and on probation for burglary. This morning SCPD arrested him again for burglary, possession of meth, and stolen merchandise.
Officer Becerra presented citizen David Pedley with an SCPD challenge coin for helping us arrest a suspect during a commercial burglary.
Officers Kroes, Giles, Kidd, and Cole worked the case and recovered several thousand dollars in crystal stones, and money from the till.
