The evening of March 21, 2020, three teens reportedly went on a beer run at the Rite Aid on West Morton Avenue in Porterville. Police were called to the scene. Upon arriving, they were given the details of what happened.

A male juvenile, 16, stood outside the store while a second male juvenile, also 16, and a female juvenile, 13, went inside. The pair grabbed two cases of beer and ran. Store employees confronted the teens at which point one of the males threw a beer bottle toward an employee but missed.

The teens were located at an apartment complex on the 500 block of North Sunnyside Street. While they were arrested without incident, during the investigation one of the suspects threatened a witness.

The trio, each of whom were identified as gang members, was booked at the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility without bail. Some of the charges they could face include robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, intimidating a witness, and gang enhancements.

The beer was recovered.
