A Chico man has been arrested on drug and weapons charges after police were called to investigate a domestic dispute.

Officers responded to the area of Cameo Drive and Coral Circle around 9:45 PM on March 20th and contacted the couple. The dispute turned out to have been an argument and fortunately had not gotten physical.

32-year-old Aaron Chatham was detained after officers noticed he was holding pepper spray and an illegal knife. Since he is a convicted felon, he is legally barred from owning or possessing weapons.

He was also found to be in possession of brass knuckles, over four ounces of meth, and a significant amount of cash.

Chatham was arrested and booked on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of illegal weapons, and possession of burglary tools.

His girlfriend was not arrested or charged.
