On the evening of March 9th an assault occurred in the 1900 block of 15th Street.

A female victim was asleep when a male showed up at her window and, when he was asked to leave, threatened to throw a rock at her.

He then made good on his threat, with the rock breaking the glass window and hitting the victim in the face.

The suspect fled south on Landers Street. Officers saw images of the suspect and one officer recognized him as 35-year-old Kevin Coleman.

The next evening as two officers were on patrol in the 2200 block of Market Street, they spotted Coleman and detained him.

Coleman was arrested for vandalism and assault.

“While an arrest was made this remains an open investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the SFPD 24 Hour tip line at 1-415-575-4444; Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD. You may remain anonymous.”
