Salinas Police: Man suspected of DUI also had loaded gun

Salinas Police have arrested a man suspected of DUI and firearm charges.

Around 2 AM on March 5, officers were alerted to a person driving recklessly in the area of Sherwood Drive.

Responding officers located the vehicle parked in the middle of the street near Mendocino Drive and Colusa Place. Upon contact, officers noticed the heavy smell of alcohol coming from the driver, 21-year-old Mason Rohr.

Rohr was removed from the vehicle and searched, at which point officers found a fully loaded .380 Colt ACP in his pocket.

He was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and several firearm charges.
