The Stockton Police Department reports of the arrest of an impaired who was caught before causing any damage –
“While on patrol, Officer Van Der Paardt received a call of a suspicious vehicle traveling on private property. Officer Van Der Paardt arrived to the area of Bacon Island Rd and located the vehicle trespassing on a citizen’s private property. After contacting the driver, Officer Van Der Paardt noted that the driver was impaired.
After completing an investigation, the driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Officer Van Der Paardt also located drugs and drug paraphernalia in the driver’s possession.
Good job Officer Van Der Paardt for taking this dangerous driver into custody before something tragic happened.
RCAID (Regional Campaign Against Impaired Drivers) is a campaign that covers San Joaquin County. The grant is allowing Stockton CHP to put extra officers on the road to combat the increase in DUI.”
