SAN RAFAEL — Two men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery of a Home Depot store earlier this month. Both men were apprehended separately, and a third suspect is being sought.

Gerard A. Hood, 37 of San Pablo, and Thomas Garcia-Rodriguez, 22 of Richmond, allegedly robbed the store. A third suspect is still being sought by police for the robbery, which occurred February 2 at 8:15 p.m.

Two men entered the Home Depot at 111 Shoreline Parkway, and one of them was carrying a gun. He ordered a cashier to give him the money from the cash registers. After grabbing the money, both men fled to a waiting car in the parking lot.

Hood was identified, based on evidence recorded by security cameras at the store. Hood was arrested on February 20 by a SWAT team at his residence on the 2000 block of 19th Street in San Pablo.

Detectives searched his residence and recovered evidence related to the Home Depot robbery. SRPD was assisted by Novato and San Pablo police.

Meanwhile, San Rafael detectives arrested Garcia-Rodriguez at the federal building, 1301 Clay Street in Oakland. Detectives learned that Hood was dropped off there by someone driving the same car apparently used in the robbery.

With assistance from Oakland police, San Rafael officers also arrested Garcia-Rodriguez on February 20. He and Hood were booked into Marin County Jail, charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. Police also impounded Garcia-Rodriguez’s vehicle as evidence.

A third suspect is still being sought by police. Anyone with information about the Home Depot robbery can call San Rafael police at 415-485-3000.
