“On December 23, 2019, and January 11, 2020, two burglaries took place at the School of the Arts (SOTA), located at 555 Portola Drive. The suspect took approximately $8,000 worth of electronics and tools belonging to the school’s “Cyber Dragons” team. The team, which competes with other schools, is funded by parents and fundraising done by the students.

An investigation by members of the San Francisco Police Department’s Burglary Detail and Ingleside Station led to the identity of the suspect as Carlos Vallecillo, a 35-year-old male from San Francisco.

On January 29, 2020, at approximately 1:30 AM, Mission Station officers arrested Vallecillo, in the area of 17th Street and Mission Street.

Vallecillo was charged on two counts of burglary and two counts of receiving stolen property in relation to two separate thefts. Vallecillo was booked at County Jail for the above charges. A booking photo accompanies this release.
