Shawn Christopher Brown of Solano County has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Marlin Edwards.

Officials say the two had been good friends for many years and had even lived together at one point, but in 2015 had a falling-out that ended their friendship.

A year and a half of subsequent animosity finally came to a head on February 5, 2017, when Marlin Edwards reportedly went to Brown’s apartment. According to a Solano County District Attorney press release, Brown chased Edwards down and shot him in the neck. Edwards died at the scene.

On January 22nd 2020, a jury found Brown guilty off second degree murder.

Brown’s next scheduled court appearance is March 3, 2020 at which time he will be sentenced.
