Love Triangle Possible Motive for Anaheim Man Shooting Another Man

A 23-year-old man has been arrested for shooting another man in Garden Grove due to a possible love triangle situation.

Garden Grove police officers responded to the incident at about 6:45 PM on January 23, 2020. The victim, a 25-year-old man from Garden Grove, was shot by the suspect in the 13400 block of Blackbird Street in Garden Grove.

The man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Further investigation led police to identify the suspect vehicle, which in turn led to the identification of the shooting suspect. On January 24th, police located and arrested 23-year-old Oscar Domingo Rodriguez of Anaheim at his workplace, a warehouse located in Orange.

“Oscar Rodriguez was interviewed by detectives and learned a possible motive for the shooting was a love triangle between the victim, the suspect and a woman,” according to the release.

Rodriguez was booked into the Orange County Jail with a bail set at $500,000. He is expected to appear in court on February 14th.

“The shooting victim is expected to survive,” according to the release.
