Suspects arrested in multiple-stabbing incident that left one dead

“UPDATE: On January 24, 2020, at approximately 11:30 a.m., an additional suspect was arrested for the homicide that occurred January 21, 2020 at Foothill and Morning Drive.

The 17-year-old female was arrested on the 2500 block of Vyn Drive, and will be booked for homicide.

On January 21, 2020, 2:38 p.m., the Kern County Sheriff’s Office was called regarding multiple stabbings that occurred in the area of Foothill Drive and Morning Drive.
One person died at the scene, and there were two additional subjects that were injured.
Homicide detectives responded to investigate.

They determined the fight began as a confrontation at a bus stop outside of Foothill High School as students were leaving school for the day.

Though others were involved in the fight, subjects determined to be involved in the stabbings are as follows.

17-year-old Jose Flores Jr. died from his injuries at the scene.

23-year-old Jason Cruz was stabbed at the scene, and has been booked into the Kern County Jail for homicide.

A 14-year-old male was stabbed at the scene, and has been booked into Juvenile Hall for assault with a deadly weapon.
