CHICO – An armed robbery took place on January 6 at Wells Fargo Bank, 954 East Avenue. The robber left the bank running before 11:00 a.m.

Officers arrived quickly and began their investigation. Witnesses supplied details about the suspect and his vehicle.

Investigators also viewed surveillance video from businesses in the area. They even obtained a partial plate ID.  This led to officers discovering the vehicle in Chico.

Three days after the robbery, detectives with search warrants arrested Kevin Miers for the bank robbery.

In addition to eyewitness reports, “evidence secured during the search warrant” helped to finalize the arrest.

The Chico Police Department concludes, “Miers was arrested for a single count of robbery and is currently at Butte County Jail.”
