Two individuals have been arrested in connection to an alleged commercial burglary that took place in Burson early this month.

Calaveras County deputies on patrol in the early hours of January 4th noticed a vehicle parked near a closed business around 12:30 AM and conducted an enforcement stop as the vehicle tried to leave.

Deputies spoke with the occupants — 43-year-old Steven Arthur Williams of Old Valley Springs and 38-year-old Jeanine Marie Priest of Volcano — and noticed several items of suspected stolen property that appeared to have been taken from the business.

Deputies contacted the business owner, who confirmed their suspicions.

Williams is now in custody on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, violation of probation, and possession of burglary tools. Priest is in custody on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, and possession of burglary tools.
