As reported by the Salinas Police Department’s Official Facebook Page:

“On New Years Day the Violence Suppression Task Force (VSTF) was made aware of a video of a male shooting a rifle out of a moving vehicle.

During the investigation VSTF was able to identify the male as Javier Placencia(21), who lived in the Prunedale area.

Placencia is also out on bail for a VSTF arrest with a firearm from three weeks prior. Some of the terms of his bail are not to use or posses firearms.

VSTF was able to obtain an arrest warrant for Placencia and a search warrant for his residence in the 14000 block of Russo Rd.

With the assistance of the SWAT team the search warrant was served this morning and Placencia was arrested without incident.

During the service of the warrant 1 shotgun, 2 rifles, ammo, and 96 hydrocodone pills were located. Placencia was transported to Monterey County Jail where he was lodged on numerous weapons and drug charges. #VSTF #SWAT #knowyourbackstopandbeyond #teamwork #drugsarebad”
