ANTIOCH — A fugitive who alluded authorities earlier this month was apprehended on January 14. The suspect was wanted for an attempted murder during an argument last year.

During the morning of October 28, officers responded to a report of a shooting at a shopping center parking lot. Responding officers found a 20-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

This shooting occurred at Williamson Ranch Plaza, located on the 4800 block of Lone Tree Way. The suspect fled before police arrived. The victim was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Investigators learned the victim and the suspect identified as Kevion Blocker, 20 of Antioch, were arguing. Their dispute turned violent and Blocker allegedly shot the victim several times.

Authorities subsequently obtained search and arrest warrants for Blocker, who was deemed armed and dangerous. On January 7, an Antioch SWAT team surrounded a residence on the 1800 block of Foster Mountain Court.

The SWAT team and other officers were unable to locate Blocker during this high-risk law enforcement action. However, an illegal firearm was located and recovered during the search of the residence that day.

On January 14, Blocker was finally located and taken into custody. Blocker was transported and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. He is presently being held ineligible for release on bond.

Blocker faces charges for attempted murder. Anyone with information about this case can call Antioch detective Sgt. Rick Smith at 925-779-6876.
