A Live Oak man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping after allegedly stealing a car occupied by two small children on Monday night, December 30.

33-year-old Charles Hall is accused of stealing a car at Knutz Auto and Truck off Industrial Avenue in Rocklin shortly before 6 PM, which turned out to be occupied by two children — a one-year-old and a five-year-old.

Hall reportedly soon abandoned the car near Thunder Valley Casino. Lincoln Police found it a short time later with the children still inside, unharmed.

Placer County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a search of the area. Hall was located on the casino grounds and taken into custody.

As it turned out, he’d been released from custody on a pre-trial court release earlier that day.

Now, he remains in custody on charges of kidnapping, carjacking, committing a felony while out on bail, and auto theft.
