Monterey Police have arrested two suspects in connection to four window-smash vehicle burglaries at the Del Monte Shopping Center.

Police responded to the shopping center at around 6:30 PM on Monday, December 9, and obtained a description of the suspect vehicle from a witness in the area.

An officer soon spotted the vehicle still driving in the shopping center, but the suspects fled when the officer attempted to stop them.

Another officer saw the vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 1 just minutes later and radioed CHP for assistance. The suspects tried to flee again and CHP gave chase, which ended abruptly when the suspects crashed into a tree in Gilroy.

Two of the three occupants were arrested, but a third fled the scene and was not found.

The two arrested are Terry Pugh (20) on suspicion of four counts of auto burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, assault with a deadly weapon, felony failure to yield, hit and run, conspiracy, and parole violation. He is housed at the Monterey County Jail on $60,000 bond; and Jordan Sanders (21) on suspicion of four counts of auto burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy.

Sanders was booked on $30,000 bond.

Both suspects are residents of Stockton.
