San Diego man causes multi-vehicle collision during police pursuit
A man in San Diego has been arrested after allegedly causing a multi-vehicle collision following a police pursuit last week.
Just before 4:30 PM on Tuesday, December 10, deputies from the Lakeside Substation arrived on the 9600 block of Marilla Drive to investigate a report of an armed individual in a vehicle.
The subject — later identified as 24-year-old Shawn Thomas Orr — fled upon seeing the deputies, kicking off a short high-speed pursuit.
At one point, Orr reportedly blew a stop sign and collided with another vehicle, then continued on for a time before abruptly stopping in the middle of Lakeshore Drive, causing the pursuing deputies to collide with one another as well as Orr’s vehicle.
Orr was taken into custody after a gun, narcotics, and ammo were found in the vehicle.
The civilian whose vehicle was struck by Orr during the pursuit was treated at the scene. Neither Orr nor the deputies were injured.
