“What if Wednesday” Advisory from Yuba City Police Department

The Yuba City Police Department issued the following “What If Wednesday” Advisory:

“What if Wednesday…

What if I come home from vacation and find my door open?

First of all do not enter the residence. Return to your vehicle or a safe place and immediately call the Police Department on 911. While speaking to the dispatcher look around for any unfamiliar vehicles or people in the area. Take note of their descriptions and provide them to the dispatcher while on the phone.

Wait until law enforcement has arrived and cleared the residence before entering.

What if Wednesday…

What if I am out shopping for Christmas gifts at several different stores and don’t have time to take the packages home?

It’s fast approaching that time of the year when an opportunist will take advantage of shoppers leaving items in their vehicles.

Never leave items in plain sight in your vehicle. If you are not able to remove them from the vehicle, secure them in a trunk and lock the vehicle.

Thank you”
