The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office recently made an arrest in a child sexual abuse incident and released the following statement:

“On Nov. 18, 2019, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division served a search warrant on the 2300 block of Parkwood Boulevard in Humboldt Hill as a result of a child abuse investigation.

During the service of the warrant, deputies arrested 31-year-old Christopher Mark Best and 58-year-old Gaylia Jean Wilson.

Best was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of sodomy with a child, lewd or lascivious acts with a child, recurring sexual conduct and unlawful intercourse with a minor. His bail is set at $195,000.

Wilson was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of child endangerment. Her bail is set at $55,000.
