Lemoore Police Officer dead in weekend murder-suicide

Two people, one an officer and the other a county investigator, are dead and another person has been left injured following what is believed to be a murder-suicide stemming from a domestic abuse incident this past weekend.

Just after 9 PM on Saturday, November 2, deputies arrived on the 8000 block of Eddy Street regarding a shooting.

Two deceased men, 31-year-old Ramiro Trevino Jr. and 31-year-old Johnathan Diaz, were located at the scene, along with a third man, 58-year-old Ramiro Trevino Sr., who’d been critically injured. All had been shot.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, witnesses said Trevino Sr. and Diaz, along with others, had tried to intervene during a domestic violence dispute between Trevino Jr. and his girlfriend.

In retaliation, Trevino Jr. allegedly armed himself, fatally shooting Diaz and critically wounding Trevino Sr. before turning the gun on himself.

Trevino Jr. was a welfare fraud investigator for Kings County and Diaz was a police officer for the city of Lemoore. The shooting took place during a birthday party for Trevino Sr.
