ROSEVILLE – During the week of September 15, a couple came to a comics store in the 800 block of Sunrise Avenue trying to sell “a large collection of Magic cards.”

The employees at the store thought it suspicious that the pair left the cards with them to “assess and appraise.” because some of the cards were rare and valued as high price items. The pair did not seem to know the value of the cards they left.

The employees contacted their other location in Folsom to see if they had any information. Sure enough, someone had come into the Folsom store stating that their car had been broken into and that the thief or thieves stole their Magic card collection.

Next, the employees contacted the individual whose cards had been stolen. The victim described some of his stolen cards. This information was enough to merit contacting the Roseville Police Department.

Officers then set up a meeting to supposedly buy the cards from the suspicious duo.  They waited in the back room of the Sunrise Avenue store when 41-year-old Jesse Lee Casey and 35-year-old Sarah Marie Huber entered. On September 21, the thieves were “arrested for possession of stolen property, attempting to sell stolen property, and several other drug related charges.”
