Police Helicopter Observes Man Shot and Killed in Ontario

Crew members of a police helicopter witnessed the murder of a man in Ontario. The suspect’s motive for the killing is not yet known.

Ontario Police were called to the the 13000 block of South Ontario Avenue at around midnight on Sunday, September 15, 2019, in response to a shooting. A police helicopter arrived, and the crew witnessed “a male holding a firearm at the location. The male then shot the victim multiple times,” according to the release.

With the help of a police dog, police were able to locate the suspect, who was hiding in a trailer on the property. Later, detectives also recovered a gun that may have been used in the incident. “The investigation has yet to identify a motive for the shooting.”

The Ontario Fire Department arrived and rendered aid to the critically injured victim, who was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital.

The suspect, identified as Jose Lopez, was booked into West Valley Detention Center on murder charges.
