REDDING — Police have arrested one suspect following a foot patrol in the area of Parkview. The area had been the focus of numerous complaints about suspected drug activity.

At around 8 PM on Thursday, September 12, an individual seen leaving one of the “suspected problem houses” bolted as soon as he saw the officer.

The individual, later identified as 32-year-old Martin Salcedo, was quickly apprehended and found to have 3 ounces of suspected heroin (contained in a white pill bottle), $500 in cash, and packaging material on him.

A records check also revealed Salcedo was on Post Release Community Supervision for being a felon in possession of ammunition.

He was booked into the Shasta County Jail for possession of heroin for sales, obstructing a peace officer, and violation of his post-release terms.
